Wood Gazebo vs. Hardtop Gazebo
Five of the range's six gazebos are wood-framed; one - the 9.5'x9.5' model - is the range's only steel-framed (hardtop) gazebo. Within the wood family, roof shape is a second, separate distinction: two 10'x12' gazebos share a size but use different roof designs entirely.
What "wood" and "hardtop" mean on these listings
GARTOO uses "wood" for a structural frame built from FSC-certified lumber, and "hardtop" for the one model in the range with a powder-coated steel frame instead. Both frame types carry a rigid metal or shingled roof panel - "hardtop" here describes the frame material, not whether the roof itself is rigid, which it is on every gazebo in this range regardless of frame.
The wood family splits by roof shape, not just size
Two of the range's wood gazebos both publish a 10' x 12' roof size, and it is easy to assume they are the same structure in two colors. They are not: one uses a vented double-top roof, the other a single sloped gable roof - different weight, different box count, a real structural difference the shared size hides. The 11'x13' and 13'x15' wood gazebos are their own separate sizes again, not larger versions of either 10'x12' design.
The one hardtop model
The 9.5'x9.5' gazebo is the range's only steel-framed structure, with a powder-coated frame and a vented double roof using hook-and-loop netting instead of the tie-in style used on the wood models. It is also the smallest gazebo footprint published in the range.
What doesn't change between wood and hardtop
Neither frame type comes with a published clearance figure from GARTOO, and neither is covered by installation guidance on this site - see clearance from your house and fence. Roof size versus usable footprint (see the previous guide) applies to both frame types identically; steel does not change how much the roof overhangs the posts.
